Indian freelancers usually bill Canadian clients in Canadian dollars and are paid by bank transfer (some clients send it through services like Wise) or PayPal. A clear invoice usually shows your GSTIN if you are registered, the client’s details and, if you have filed a Letter of Undertaking (LUT), an export note.

Payment details
Bank transfer. Account details are shown here on your real invoices.
Sample invoice from India to Canada
The export note applies only if you have filed a Letter of Undertaking (LUT).
What to include
Commonly included
Bill in Canadian dollars (CAD) so your client is not confused with US dollar pricing; write “CAD” next to amounts if in doubt.
Show your business name, address and GSTIN if you are GST-registered, plus the client’s company name and address.
Give clear payment details: bank transfer with your bank’s SWIFT code, or a PayPal link. Some clients send bank transfers through services like Wise.
May be relevant
Canadian GST/HST may come up: non-resident suppliers of services to Canadian businesses often do not charge it, but rules differ for consumers and by province.
If you have filed a Letter of Undertaking, the LUT export note is wording businesses commonly use on Indian export invoices.
